NOTICE: By-law steps up enforcement of no parking areas

By-law enforcement officers were busy last weekend, issuing 119 parking tickets throughout Prince Edward County.

The municipality continues to take action to ensure safe roads and improve traffic flow for vehicles and first responders, especially in high traffic areas around provincial parks, conservation areas, beaches, and downtown commercial areas.

New no-parking areas are in place at waterfronts that are commonly accessed from municipal roads. Signs are in place to indicate no parking areas. Drivers are responsible for scanning the area for signs before parking and obeying all parking restrictions.

Municipal staff will also be on site at the Wellington Rotary Beach throughout the weekend to enforce the rules and assist with crowd control. Visitors are reminded that Wellington Rotary Beach is closed from 11 pm – 7 am each day and the following restrictions are in place:

• No overnight camping or parking
• No alcoholic beverages
• No barbequing
• No pets off leash

Please help keep the beach beautiful by cleaning up after yourselves and your pets and not feeding waterfowl or wildlife.
