NOTICE: Potential for intermittent coloured water and fluctuating pressure

Municipal water customers connected to the Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System could experience intermittent coloured water and fluctuating water pressure from Sept. 17-28.

The City of Quinte West is conducting fire flow testing in the Trenton Drinking Water System, which could impact Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System customers.

• Fire flow testing in the Trenton Drinking Water System will take place from Monday, Sept. 17 to Friday, Sept. 28.

• The Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System is supplied drinking water from the City of Quinte West’s Trenton Drinking Water System.

• Due to the location of planned fire flow testing in the Trenton Drinking Water System, there is a small potential that Prince Edward County water customers connected to the Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System, particularly those located in Carrying Place, could experience intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water.

• If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete and avoid doing laundry until colour has cleared.

• Water quality will be monitored, and is not expected to be impacted by this work. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of testing.

• There will not be traffic impacts in Prince Edward County as a result of this work.

• To submit a comment or question or report a problem, visit The County’s customer service webpage (www.thecounty.ca/county-government/departments/customer-service) and fill out the online form.

• Information about fire flow testing in the Trenton Drinking Water System can be found on the City of Quinte West’s website (https://www.quintewest.ca/en/your-city-hall/hydrantflushing.asp).
